Maria Teresa Benedetto, MD, FACOG

Maria Teresa Benedetto, MD, FACOG, is a skilled and experienced OB/GYN at NY Midtown OB/GYN. Dr. Benedetto provides high quality care from offices in midtown Manhattan, New York City and the town of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, New York.

Dr. Benedetto is active in clinical practice, teaching, and research for several years and is a strong advocate for patients who desire a natural birth, and as such, she has been highly successful in achieving vaginal deliveries after cesarean sections. She specializes in several surgical procedures, including laparoscopic surgery and vaginal hysterectomy. 

Dr. Benedetto has a wide range of experiences and varied interests in clinical medicine and research, translating to a passion for providing her patients with excellent individualized care.

She was instrumental in developing and expanding gynecologic care for women with special needs through the Initiative for Women with Disabilities. She also has a special devotion to adolescent patients.  

Dr. Benedetto is actively involved in training medical students and residents and has received numerous teaching awards. She has published multiple journal articles, abstracts, and books on mechanisms that trigger labor, the effect of immune system stimulants on uterine cancer, and hormone receptor activity in uterine and breast cancer.
